My name is Gerailton de Lima, I am Brazilian and currently living in Portugal. I have been working as a luthier for over 30 years — a journey that began when I was 17 years old under the guidance of the late master Abel. Shortly after his passing, I had the privilege of meeting the person who would become my true mentor in the art of luthiery: master Múcio José de Oliveira, founder of the renowned de Oliveira Bass. With him, I deepened my knowledge — especially in instrument construction — and had the honor of working alongside him for over a decade.
Passionate about music, and especially the bass, I discovered my true calling in building electric basses. This passion led me to found d’Lima Guitars in Brazil — a brand dedicated to turning dreams into music.
Every instrument I create is unique, crafted with full attention to detail and the utmost respect for the art. About 90% of the process is done using hand tools, ensuring a level of customization and quality that only handcrafted luthiery can offer.

Lisbon Guitar Works
As a natural extension of this philosophy, Lisbon Guitar Works was established in 2015 as a dedicated service branch of D’Lima Guitars. Focused on the maintenance, repair, and customization of stringed instruments — from guitars and basses to banjos and more — Lisbon Guitar Works upholds the same commitment to quality and attention to detail. In addition to repairs and restorations, the workshop offers custom instrument building and hands-on courses for aspiring luthiers. Whether it’s breathing new life into a well-loved guitar or guiding the next generation of builders, Lisbon Guitar Works exists to keep the music alive and instruments at their absolute best.
